Former Fenerbahçe player Bright Osayi-Samuel spoke about his days in yellow and navy. Stating that his father is a die-hard Fenerbahçe fan, Osayi commented on the transfer process to Beşiktaş, saying, 'Even if I wanted to sign for Beşiktaş, my father would never let me go. Beşiktaş spoke with my former manager and wanted me to come. I didn’t want to, I don’t mean to disrespect Beşiktaş, but I wanted to go home. It was either Fenerbahçe or going home.'
Former Fenerbahce player Bright Osayi-Samuel made striking statements to Libero TV about the yellow-navy team. Osayi touched upon the departure process, the transfer offers he received, and his experiences at Fenerbahce.
"I NEVER ASKED FOR A CONTRACT"
Commenting on the departure process, Osayi said, "Many journalists in Turkey make up stories to grab attention, but for me, and the club knows this, I never asked for a contract. What happened is that at the start of the season, Mario Branco offered me a contract, and we accepted. However, at that time, I was changing my agent. Because I remember before the season, a journalist tweeted that I was asking for money, and I had no idea about it, I didn't know anything. Then I saw a message from my former agent showing that he had discussed this with the journalist behind my back, and that really made me angry. Seeing that, I wanted to leave my agent and agree with a new one. But I didn't want to sign a deal with him because I didn't want him to take a portion of the money or anything. I agreed with Mario Branco that I would sign the deal when I found a new agent, and I think the rumors started from there."
"YOU ALWAYS HEAR STORIES LIKE THAT IN TURKEY"
Continuing his remarks, the Nigerian star said, "I think I should have ignored it as much as possible because you always hear stories like that in Turkey, but this really affected me. Because I am grateful just to play for Fenerbahce, so I would never ask for such a ridiculous amount. I think this is just football, and I learned a lesson from it."

Osayi, stating that his father is a Fenerbahce fan, expressed that his father would not allow him to go to Besiktas, saying, "The deal with Besiktas was an agreement made with my former agent. It had nothing to do with me or my dad. My dad is a very hardcore Fenerbahce supporter, really hardcore... Even if I wanted to sign for Besiktas, my dad would never let me go. Besiktas contacted my former agent and wanted me to come. I didn't want to, I don't want to disrespect Besiktas, but I wanted to go home. It was either Fenerbahce or going home."
"THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE"
Regarding the season when they collected 99 points, Osayi said, "I had heard about the injustices done to Fenerbahce in the league before joining the team. But then, the season with Ismail Kartal made me think, 'Okay, I can see for myself what the club is talking about.' It was truly a hard-to-understand situation for a club to get 99 points, lose only once, and not win the league. I think this had never happened before. I could understand what the president and the club were saying about the referees and the system. But as players, we had to play because we couldn't change anything. It didn't affect my game, but I could understand what the club was saying."
