Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to tanker traffic, alleging that the US has clearly violated its commitments. US Vice President J.D. Vance stated, "Negotiations with Iran could take place on Sunday (tomorrow). I hope to go to Switzerland within a few days. There is no evidence that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz."

Diplomatic traffic between the US and Iran has revived. While tensions remain high in the region, Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to tanker transit, alleging that the US has clearly violated its commitments. US Vice President James David Vance, however, pointed to tomorrow (Sunday, June 21) for talks with Iran.

IRAN: WE CLOSED THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ

In a statement from Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters Central Command, it said: "Due to the United States' clear violation of its commitments and failure to implement the first article of the agreement to end the war; and in response to Israel's continuous and persistent violations of the ceasefire in South Lebanon, resulting in the brutal killing and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people in that oppressed country, as well as the withdrawal of occupation forces from South Lebanese territory, we declare that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to ship traffic and maritime navigation. We emphasize that this step is the first phase of the response to the enemy's violation of its obligations. In the event that attacks continue, additional steps will be planned and implemented to force the enemy to comply with its commitments."

US: TALKS COULD BE TOMORROW

US Vice President JD Vance, however, stated: "Talks with Iran could take place on Sunday (tomorrow). I plan to go to Switzerland within a few days. I am confident the ceasefire will hold. There is no evidence that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Iran and the US, within the framework of a negotiation process mediated by Pakistan, announced on June 14 that they had reached a 14-point agreement providing for the cessation of war and the resolution of disputes between the parties through talks.

The memorandum of understanding, called the "Islamabad Agreement," was signed digitally by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.

The agreement includes provisions such as ending the war, including in Lebanon, opening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting the US naval blockade against Iran.???????
