As the US-Israel-Iran war continues, the first pilgrimage caravan from Iran to the holy lands was welcomed with great enthusiasm in a ceremony held in Mecca. At the ceremony for pilgrims from Golestan Province, rose petals were scattered, and flowers and sweets were offered. The welcome, dominated by a spiritual atmosphere, became a symbol of Islamic brotherhood and the unity of the Ummah.
The first caravan departing from Iran to perform the Hajj pilgrimage left Imam Khomeini International Airport on Tuesday, April 28, heading to Medina. The group of approximately 260 pilgrims arrived at their hotel in Medina in the evening.
The welcome ceremony, held under the shadow of the 67-day-long US-Israel-Iran war, featured striking scenes.
WELCOMED WITH FLOWERS AND SWEETS
Emotional and spiritual moments were experienced during the welcome ceremony organized for the pilgrims' arrival. In particular, for two separate caravans from Golestan Province, the pilgrims were greeted with rose petals. Guests were offered flowers and sweets during the ceremony, creating a warm atmosphere accompanied by hymns and welcoming melodies.
The joy of the pilgrims who reached Mecca was reflected on their faces, and the scenes from the ceremony attracted attention on social media. Teams involved in the organization greeted each pilgrim individually with a "welcome" message.
EMPHASIS ON "UMMAH UNITY"
The messages delivered at the welcome ceremony highlighted Islamic brotherhood, hospitality, and ummah unity. Approaching pilgrims from different countries with love and respect was one of the most notable details of the ceremony.
