SECURITY MEETING FROM THE DEFENSE MINISTERIraqi Defense Minister Sabit Muhammed al-Abbasi held a meeting with the Western Nineveh Operations Command in Sinjar following the developments in Syria. According to a statement from the ministry, al-Abbasi addressed the effects of the security developments in Syria on Iraq and the security of the Iraq-Syria border during the meeting. After the meeting, Minister al-Abbasi inspected the measures taken along the border line and received information about security measures and the preparations of Iraqi forces. Meanwhile, local Iraqi sources reported that reinforcement troops were dispatched to the Sinjar district, which is connected to the city of Mosul, to ensure security at the Syria border.
