After Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer resigned from the New Party, a claim emerged that stirred up political corridors. Journalist Sinan Burhan alleged that Yüceer would join the AK Party.
While Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer’s resignation from the New Party echoed in the political agenda, a striking claim about her new address came to the fore. Journalist Sinan Burhan claimed that Yüceer would join the AK Party.
SINAN BURHAN’S AK PARTY CLAIM
In a post on his social media account, journalist Sinan Burhan said, “Tekirdağ Mayor Candan Yüceer will join the AK Party.”
Burhan’s statement came immediately after Yüceer’s resignation decision. However, there is no confirmation from her regarding the claim that Yüceer will join the AK Party.
SHE RESIGNED FROM THE NEW PARTY
Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer announced today that she had resigned from her membership in the YENİ Party. Explaining her reasons for resigning, Yüceer reacted to developments within the party and delegate disputes at the provincial congress.
Yüceer stated that during the provincial congress held while she was ill, there was a dispute over congress delegacy and that she was not even written on the delegate list, and she said she did not find this acceptable.
“THIS IS NOT THE COMPANIONSHIP I AM LOOKING FOR”
Emphasizing that she does not do politics based on office and seat calculations, Yüceer criticized some figures within the party for prioritizing their personal interests.
Yüceer said, “The loyalty I expect, the companionship I seek, is not this. I am not part of an understanding in which the law of companionship is trampled so easily and personal interests are placed before common values.”
Stating that she would continue to serve Tekirdağ, Yüceer noted that her priority was not political reckonings but the city’s problems and ongoing projects.
THE CLAIM THAT “ONE MORE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY WILL SWITCH TO THE AK PARTY” WAS RECALLED
On the other hand, after claims that Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay would switch to the AK Party, it was alleged that one more metropolitan municipality mayor would join the ruling party. This time, the name that came to the agenda was Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir. However, in a statement on October 12, Özdemir stated that she was doing politics under the CHP roof and denied the claims that she would switch to the AK Party. Now, the claim that Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer will join the AK Party has come to the agenda.
