Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Danny Danon announced that the UN has added Israel to a "blacklist" for allegations of rape and sexual violence in conflict zones.
The UN has blacklisted Israel for committing sexual violence in conflict zones.
ISRAEL ON THE SHAME LIST
Dannon, in a post on his account on the social media platform of the US-based X company, reacted to this decision by stating that the UN had added Israel to the "blacklist," also known as the "shame list" documenting sexual violence in conflict zones.
"THE DECISION IS POLITICAL"
Arguing that the decision is "political," Dannon claimed they invited UN officials to conduct investigations, while the Tel Aviv administration has not allowed International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) officials to meet with Palestinians held in prisons since October 7, 2023.
The UN has not yet made public its annual report on sexual violence in conflict zones.
Meanwhile, the Israeli press reports that the Israel Prison Service is among the institutions added to the UN's "blacklist."
"PALESTINIANS ARE SUBJECTED TO TORTURE AND RAPE"
Numerous international human rights organizations, led by the United Nations, indicate that Palestinians detained from the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, and East Jerusalem are systematically subjected to sexual torture and rape in Israeli prisons, regardless of gender or age.
According to data published in November 2025 by the Israeli Physicians for Human Rights Organization (PHRI), at least 98 Palestinians died in Israeli prisons between October 2023 and November 2025 due to systematic torture, medical neglect, sexual violence, and mistreatment.
