Israel broke the ceasefire with Lebanon. The Israeli army has launched a ground operation in the area it occupies in southern Lebanon, known as the "Yellow Line."

It was reported that the Israeli army has launched ground attacks beyond the area it currently occupies in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire, a region referred to as the "Yellow Line."

GROUND OPERATION IN SOUTHERN LEBANON

According to a report by state television KAN, following the lifting of military censorship in Israel, the Israeli army has carried out ground attacks beyond the dozens of towns it occupies in the south.

It was reported earlier today that a unit of the Israeli army, which has occupied numerous towns in southern Lebanon, entered the town of Eastern Zavtar, located north of the Litani River.

NETANYAHU ORDERED THE ATTACK

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night ordered the military to increase attacks on Lebanon.

Israel's far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich argued in a statement on March 23 that southern Lebanon should be occupied and the Litani River should become the new Israel-Lebanon border.

On April 19, the Israeli army announced that it had established a zone similar to the "Yellow Line" in the Gaza Strip in the areas it occupies in southern Lebanon.

ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON LEBANON AND CEASEFIRE

The Israeli army launched intense airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2, occupying many towns in the south of the country. During this process, the Lebanese government announced that the number of displaced people in the country had exceeded 1 million.

US President Donald Trump announced on April 24 that the 10-day temporary ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which came into effect on April 17, had been extended for another three weeks.

As a result of the third round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the US on May 14-15, it was decided to extend the ceasefire for 45 days as of May 17 and hold a fourth round of talks in early June.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced yesterday that 3,185 people have lost their lives in attacks by Israel on the country since March 2.

While the Israeli army continues its attacks and house demolitions in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire, Hezbollah also conducts attacks on Israeli forces on grounds of ceasefire violations.
