Tel Aviv Deputy Mayor Guy Avner invited New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani to a fight on social media, after Mamdani said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be tried in The Hague. Avner's call, made with the words 'You and me baby, face to face,' quickly became a trending topic, and he also proposed the match take place in Tel Aviv.
Tel Aviv Deputy Mayor Guy Avner drew attention with a striking call to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani in a post on his social media account.
Avner announced that he wants to face Mamdani in the ring, who argues that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be tried in The Hague for war crimes committed in Gaza.

Using harsh language in his post, Avner addressed Mamdani, saying, "I love America, I love New York, but you, Mamdani, you are a disaster. I'm coming after you. There's no place to run, no place to hide. The time has come. You and me, baby, face to face. Let's go."
"LET'S HOLD THE MATCH IN TEL AVIV"
Avner, who suggested the match be held in Israel, also referenced Mamdani's statements about Netanyahu, where he said, "He should be arrested."
Avner continued his post with the words, "We can hold the match in Tel Aviv. Don't worry, you won't be arrested."
HIS STATEMENTS ABOUT NETANYAHU HAD CAUSED CONTROVERSY
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani had previously stated, "Netanyahu's place is The Hague. He is a war criminal indicted by the International Criminal Court."
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Mamdani of "attacking the leader of the Jewish state, the only democracy in the Middle East."
ICC HAD ISSUED AN ARREST WARRANT
The International Criminal Court (ICC) had issued arrest warrants on November 21, 2024, for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
