In line with the US request, Israel has halted its attacks in southern Lebanon and instructed its military to "stand by." Starting next week, Israel will begin withdrawing from some pilot areas in Lebanon, while simultaneously sitting at the negotiation table with Lebanon in Rome, the capital of Italy, on July 15-16.

It has been reported that the Israeli army has stopped its attacks on southern Lebanon following a request from the US.

ARMY INSTRUCTED TO "STAY ON STANDBY"

In a report by Israeli state television KAN, citing an unnamed Israeli security official, it was stated that the Tel Aviv administration's instruction to the army, in line with requests from the US, will remain in effect until the tension between Iran and the US and the course of negotiations with Lebanon become clear.

The report noted that the Tel Aviv administration viewed a possible retaliation targeting Israel as an opportunity to strike strategic targets in Iran, but upon a request from the White House, the army was instructed to "stay on standby" in order to prevent the current tension from spilling over into Israel.

The withdrawal of Israel from pilot areas will coincide with the negotiations in Rome

ISRAELI ARMY TO BEGIN WITHDRAWAL FROM PILOT AREAS

Meanwhile, KAN reported that the Israeli army is expected to begin withdrawing from pilot areas in southern Lebanon starting next week.

It was recalled that, simultaneously with the withdrawal process, a new round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel will be held in Rome, the capital of Italy.

It was noted that the Israeli delegation in the Rome negotiations will be led by US Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, and will include the technical team that participated in previous rounds of negotiations.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar had announced that the next round of negotiations with Lebanon will take place next week in Rome, the capital of Italy.

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, "The talks have been confirmed to take place in Rome. The planned date is July 15-16. However, this also depends somewhat on the Americans, Lebanese, and Israelis; they should decide. We have made our availability known."
