In the second wave of the corruption operation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), 18 out of the 52 individuals taken into custody were arrested. Judicial measures were applied to the other 12 individuals who were referred for arrest. Among those arrested are Cevat Kaya, the brother of Dilek İmamoğlu, Ali Rıza Akyüz, the Deputy Mayor of Bakırköy, and Çağlar Türkmen, who covered the security camera of the hotel where Ekrem İmamoğlu made his entrance.
The statement procedures of 52 suspects who were detained in the second operation regarding the 'corruption' investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) have been completed at the prosecutor's office. While 18 of the suspects sent to the courthouse were arrested, 34 were released under judicial control.
THEY WERE DETAINED IN SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS
As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the IMM for 'establishing, managing, and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime', 'manipulating a tender', 'bribery', and 'qualified fraud', 52 of the 53 suspects against whom an arrest warrant was issued by the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit were detained in simultaneous operations carried out in Istanbul, Ankara, and Tekirdağ.
THEY WERE SENT TO THE COURTHOUSE
In the early hours of yesterday morning, the suspects, who completed their procedures at the Istanbul Police Department and underwent a health check at Bayrampaşa State Hospital, were sent to the courthouse.

Of the 52 suspects whose statements were taken at the duty magistrate's court in Istanbul Justice Palace, 18 were arrested, while 34 were released under judicial control.
