The name behind the announcement that millions of Istanbulites hear every day at Istanbulkart top-up machines has reappeared in a new video.

Başkent Communication Academy shared a video of Funda Eskin Akın, who works as a voice-over instructor at the institution, from its Instagram social media account. The academy published the video with the note "How many of you have heard this voice?"

Social media users, upon learning that the announcement heard for years on Istanbulkart top-up machines belonged to Akın, made humorous comments under the post.

Funda Eskin Akın, who provides the guidance on the balance-loading machines of Istanbulkart, which millions of people in Istanbul have used since 2009, described her voice echoing all over Istanbul as "something very special" in a 2020 interview. Presenter and voice-over artist Eskin Akın had said, "They don’t know you, but your voice is there. Sometimes I top up cards alongside them."
