The customs exemption of up to 30 euros applied to individual purchases from abroad has been removed with the amendment published in the Official Gazette. The new regulation will come into effect 30 days after the publication date.
The customs exemption of up to 30 euros, which has been in effect for individual shopping for a long time, has officially been abolished. The regulation regarding the decision has been published in the Official Gazette, initiating the enforcement process.
With the published communiqué, changes have been made to the Customs General Communiqué. Accordingly, it has been stipulated that applications from companies holding an Approved Person Status Certificate or Authorized Economic Operator Certificate, which meet certain conditions, will be accepted if they request a widely simplified procedure for their goods.
TO ENTER INTO FORCE 30 DAYS LATER
It was stated that the regulation will come into force 30 days after the publication date, and it was expressed that the implementation will be carried out by the Ministry of Trade.
The Official Gazette decision is as follows:
"ARTICLE 1- The last sentence of Article 3 of the Customs General Communiqué (Customs Procedures) (Series No: 16) published in the Official Gazette dated 11/7/2002 and numbered 24812 has been amended as follows.
"In the first paragraph of Article 42/A of the Customs General Communiqué on Approved Person Status published in the Official Gazette dated 30/12/2011 and numbered 28158 (third repeated), those who hold an Approved Person Status Certificate or Authorized Economic Operator Certificate and meet the conditions specified in the aforementioned article and have the right to benefit from the facilities mentioned therein, if they request a widely simplified procedure for their goods, this request shall be accepted regardless of whether the goods possess the characteristics mentioned above."
ARTICLE 2- This Communiqué shall enter into force 30 days after its publication date.
ARTICLE 3- The provisions of this Communiqué shall be executed by the Minister of Trade."
