The aunt of 2-year-old Sıla, who lost her life due to sexual abuse in Tekirdağ, Elif Akyüz, committed suicide by jumping from the 3rd floor as a result of the depression she fell into after her niece's death. Before her death, Akyüz had filed a lawsuit to obtain custody of Sıla and her 5-year-old sister.

The incident occurred around 03:00 at an apartment on the 3rd floor in the Altınova neighborhood of the Süleymanpaşa district. Elif Akyüz jumped from their 3rd-floor apartment, where she lived with her father, due to the depression she fell into after the death of her 2-year-old niece, Sıla Yeniçeri. Health teams who arrived at the scene upon notification determined that Akyüz had lost her life.
THE TRAGEDY LEFT DEEP MARKS ON THE FAMILY
The tragedy experienced by 2-year-old Sıla Yeniçeri, who lost her life due to the violence and sexual abuse she suffered from the children of the neighbor who her mother, Bakiye Yeniçeri, left her with a few months ago, left deep marks on the family.
SHE HAD BEEN RECEIVING TREATMENT IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 30 DAYS
Before her death, baby Sıla had been receiving treatment in the hospital for 30 days, during which Elif Akyüz came to the hospital every day to get information about her niece's condition. After the pain experienced, the family went through a great trauma, and it was learned that Elif Akyüz could not recover from the effects of this process and was going through difficult days psychologically. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
2-year-old Sıla Y, who was hospitalized on September 8 due to sexual abuse and assault in Tekirdağ, passed away on October 7 in the intensive care unit where she was being treated at Tekirdağ Dr. İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu City Hospital.
Aunt Elif Akyüz had filed a lawsuit at the Tekirdağ 4th Family Court before the baby passed away to gain custody of Sıla and her 5-year-old sister.
