Fatos Pinar Turker, the General Manager of Medya A.S. and a detained defendant in the 414-defendant IMM case that includes Ekrem Imamoglu, claimed that a "nude search" was conducted during her detention process. The Bakirkoy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office denied the allegation, stating that "the admission, body search, and placement procedures were carried out in accordance with regulations." The Prosecutor's Office also stated that the search lasted only 1 minute and that Turker signed a record stating "I have no complaint."

The 47th hearing of the "Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Corruption Case," involving 414 defendants, 68 of whom are detained—including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is held in Silivri and has been suspended from his duties by the Ministry of Interior—saw dramatic moments.

During the hearing held yesterday (Tuesday, June 9) by the Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court in Courtroom No. 1 of the Marmara Closed Prison in Silivri, Fatoş Pınar Türker, the detained General Manager of IMM subsidiary Medya A.Ş., a key figure in the case, continued her defense.

TÜRKER ALLEGES 'STRIP SEARCH' IN TEARS IN COURT

Türker, recounting the arrest and prison intake process in tears in the courtroom, made striking allegations. Starting her defense with the words, "Anyone ashamed can leave," Türker claimed she was held in an area used as a storage room during the prison admission process and subjected to a strip search.

CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE IMMEDIATELY DENIES ALLEGATIONS: COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED

After Türker's allegations in the courtroom were reflected in the press and social media, the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action and issued an official press release.

The statement, reminding that Türker, arrested on bribery charges on March 23, 2025, was admitted to the Marmara Women's Closed Penitentiary Institution on the same day, emphasized that the claims of strip searches and being held in a storage room were completely unfounded.

"SEARCH LASTED ONLY 1 MINUTE, CLOTHES NOT REMOVED"

Stating that the admission and search procedures were carried out in accordance with Article 34 of the regulations, the Chief Prosecutor's Office shared the details of the search moment with the following statements:

"The search in question was conducted in an area not visible from the outside and with no video recording, and contrary to the allegations, the detainee's clothes were not removed. The search process started at 18:01 and was completed at 18:02."

SIGNED THE REPORT SAYING 'I HAVE NO COMPLAINT'

The Chief Prosecutor's Office stated that the document drawn up after the search clearly recorded that the detainee Fatoş Pınar Türker herself stated that 'she had no damage or complaint.'

As a result of the statement, the claims that the defendant was held in a storage room outside of dedicated living areas were also rejected, stating that the admission and placement procedures were carried out in full compliance with the law.
