Beşiktaş Second President Hakan Daltaban made statements about the current agenda at Tüpraş Stadium. Referring to the punch attack on Trossard, Daltaban said, "There is a serious MHK crisis. Despite our repeated polite warnings after the nightmare experienced last season, a great heedlessness continues. Sitting in the chair is not the same as managing. I am addressing the former Turkish referees; Turkish refereeing is slipping away!''
Hakan Daltaban, the Second President of Beşiktaş, made statements to the press regarding the referee errors in the Corendon Alanyaspor match and current agenda.
''WE DON'T HAVE A CULTURE OF SHOWING OFF''
Starting his speech by stating that they do not want to appear frequently in such press conferences, Daltaban emphasized Beşiktaş's values and community culture, saying, "Football is a simple game, but it is a culture that carries a great spirit and the sacred values of communities. I know both the Beşiktaş loyalty in Anatolia and the closed stand. Our community chose us to manage Beşiktaş correctly, to defend their rights, and to make them happy. We do not have a culture of showing off on screen; we came to serve. Our culture includes honorable championships and honorable runner-up finishes. We try to teach the new generation not to wrongfully take rights, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we struggle to achieve this."
''A FOOTBALL SCANDAL HAPPENED LAST NIGHT''
Referring to the referee errors in the Alanyaspor match, Daltaban stated that as a club they do not expect any extra privileges from anyone, saying, "Unfortunately, a football scandal happened yesterday. We want to do sports, not fight. Let no one donate property to us or give us what is not our right, but let them not eat our right either. Alanyaspor fought with the sweat of their brow; our words are definitely not against our opponent. There can be toughness in football, but the referee authority is the one that will not allow it. In a match where 28 fouls were committed, not a single yellow card was shown. Everyone saw them pulling shirts, but the referee and VAR did not see it."
''WE DECIDED NOT TO SPEAK''
Explaining that they made an administrative principle decision not to make statements immediately regarding referee decisions, the Second President said, "It has been 1 week since we decided not to make statements with adrenaline as soon as the match ends. We told our technical team and sporting director not to talk about the referee after the match. It is much more accurate to stay calm and see how the positions are perceived by the public."
''I CALL ON OLD TURKISH REFEREES!''
Criticizing the Central Referee Board (MHK) with harsh words, Daltaban commented, "There is a serious MHK crisis. Despite our repeated gentle warnings after the nightmare experienced last season, a great heedlessness continues. Sitting in the chair is not the same as managing. I call on old Turkish referees; Turkish refereeing is slipping away! While not a single referee speaks in European matches, we cannot accept these situations happening in our own league."
''PUNCHES AND SLAPS WERE THROWN! THIS IS AN ATTACK''
Finally, Hakan Daltaban said, "There are things the Turkish football public agrees on. Punches and slaps were thrown at Trossard. Call it whatever you want. If this happened in the stands, a legal process would have started. This is an attack. From now on, which punch will you give a card for?"
