In Adana, drunk driver M.G. hit a mother and her daughter on a moped. The daughter lost her life while the mother was injured. The driver surrendered one day after the accident, and it was determined through an expert calculation that he had 2.40 promil alcohol, leading to his arrest.

In Adana, a mother survived injured while her daughter died after being hit by a drunk driver. Hülya Büyükyolaçan, 75, who lost her daughter in the accident, said, "He was drunk, he fled. I want justice for my daughter. My lungs are burning, my heart is burning." The driver surrendered a day after the accident and was arrested after an expert calculation determined he had approximately 2.40 promil alcohol at the time of the crash.

HIT THE MOPED FROM BEHIND

The accident occurred on July 4 on the D-400 highway in İncirlik Neighborhood, Sarıçam district. According to the claim, Serhan Kayatürk (58) went with his mother Hülya Büyükyolaçan (75) to his daughter Yağmur Y.'s house for dinner. After the meal, Kayatürk set out on a moped with license plate 01 BFK 858 to return home, and was hit from behind by a car driven by M.G. (27) with license plate 01 BFK 819 traveling in the same direction.

With the force of the impact, Serhan Kayatürk and his mother Hülya Büyükyolaçan were thrown onto the road, while the car driver M.G. fled the scene. Upon reports from bystanders, medical and police teams were dispatched to the area. The severely injured mother and daughter were taken to Adana City Training and Research Hospital after initial medical intervention. Despite all medical efforts, Serhan Kayatürk could not be saved. Kayatürk's body was buried in Küçükoba Cemetery. Injured Hülya Büyükyolaçan was discharged after treatment.

The driver M.G., who fled after the accident, surrendered at a police station a day later. The driver's alcohol level was measured at 0.01 promil, and due to his surrender approximately 24 hours after the accident, a retroactive alcohol calculation was made. In the expert evaluation, adding 0.15 promil alcohol per hour, it was determined that M.G. had approximately 2.40 promil alcohol at the time of the accident. After police procedures, M.G. was sent to court and arrested, then sent to prison.

I was screaming, an ambulance came and took me to the hospital. They told me my daughter was not badly hurt, that she was fine. But in fact, at that moment, my daughter was in very bad shape. I was dragged 200 meters; without the grass there, I might have died too. The grass saved me."

Büyükyolaçan said, "The driver was drunk; in his statement, he said there were 3 of us on the moped. He said two people were thrown backward; that was a lie. My daughter was in front, I was behind. He was driving very slowly. I want justice for my daughter. My lungs are burning. I want justice, nothing else. My heart is burning, my insides are burning."

Büyükyolaçan stated that she lost consciousness during the incident and was taken to the hospital, adding, "The driver surrendered a day later. There were witnesses at the time of the accident. His relatives came and took the child away in another car."
