Snowfall has been continuing since yesterday in the Başiskele, Gölcük, and Kartepe regions of Kocaeli. Traffic teams are warning drivers while municipalities are carrying out road clearing operations.
Snowfall has been effective in the high areas of Kocaeli.
SNOWFALL CONTINUES UNINTERRUPTED
The Aytepe area in Başiskele district, Eriklitepe Nature Park in Gölcük district, Kartepe Ski Center, and Kuzuyayla Nature Park have been covered with a white blanket following the effective precipitation since the night hours. Life has come to a standstill in the region where snowfall has been ongoing for 24 hours.
Traffic teams affiliated with the Provincial Gendarmerie Command warned drivers using the routes about the snowfall and conducted tire checks on vehicles. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Kartepe Municipality teams also carried out snow plowing and salting work to prevent the roads from being closed to traffic.
