In the investigation into Gülistan Doku, who went missing in Tunceli in 2020, two IT officers from Tunceli State Hospital, detained on allegations of deleting hospital records, were released under judicial supervision on charges of 'destroying and concealing evidence.' A travel ban abroad was imposed on the suspects.

In the investigation regarding university student Gülistan Doku, who has been unaccounted for since January 5, 2020, in Tunceli, two hospital staff members detained on allegations that hospital records were deleted have been released under judicial supervision.

RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL SUPERVISION

As part of the investigation conducted by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the procedures of B.Y. and Y.E., IT staff at Tunceli State Hospital who were detained on allegations that hospital records were deleted, have been completed at the gendarmerie. After undergoing a health check, B.Y. and Y.E. were brought to the courthouse under security measures.

Following their questioning at the prosecutor's office, Y.E. was referred to the duty criminal judgeship, where he was released under judicial supervision with the obligation to sign and a travel ban abroad, while B.Y. was also released under judicial supervision with a travel ban abroad.

12 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

The family of Gülistan Doku (21), a university student studying in Tunceli who had not been heard from since January 5, 2020, came from their hometown Diyarbakır to Tunceli and filed a missing person report with the police on January 6, 2020. Search efforts yielded no results.

Gülistan Doku investigation hospital staff released under judicial supervision

Based on new information, the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office detained 17 suspects as part of an investigation into charges of "intentional homicide," "sexual assault," "concealing/destroying evidence of a crime," "illegally entering an information system to destroy/alter data," "deprivation of liberty," "failure to report a crime," and "harboring a criminal."

Among the suspects, the then Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, his son Mustafa Türkay Sonel, former police officer Gökhan Ertok (accused of deleting data from Doku's SIM card), former Tunceli State Hospital Chief Physician Çağdaş Özdemir (accused of deleting hospital records), former Tunceli Special Provincial Administration employee Erdoğan Elaldı, Celal Altaş, Nurşen Arıkan, Ferhat Hanedan Güven, Doku's boyfriend Zeinal Abakarov, her mother Cemile Yücer, her stepfather and former police officer Engin Yücer, and Şükrü Eroğlu (who served as Tuncay Sonel's protective police officer at the time) were arrested. Uğurcan A., along with Savaş G. and Süleyman Ö., who were responsible for Munzur University's security cameras, were released under judicial supervision with travel bans abroad.

RED NOTICE FOR UMUT ALTAŞ

In the investigation, a red notice was issued for fugitive suspect Umut Altaş, who was determined to be abroad. Meanwhile, within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, the then Tunceli Police Chief Yılmaz Delen was called to testify as a witness, and his testimony procedures in Erzurum were completed.
