A MISSILE FRAGMENT FELL INTO THE ATATÜRK DAM LAKE
Villagers who witnessed the missile falling in two pieces reported the situation to the gendarmerie teams. Teams from the Adıyaman Provincial Gendarmerie Command and AFAD were dispatched to the scene. The teams found and retrieved a piece of the missile from the water. The missile fragment was taken to the gendarmerie command for examination.
Efforts have been initiated to find the remaining piece in the water. At the same time, while the teams were searching in the water, they also conducted searches in the agricultural fields in the area.
TEAMS HAVE STARTED WORK
Teams affiliated with the İskenderun Coast Guard Command were dispatched to the scene. Upon arriving at the area where the missile fell, the teams lowered underwater devices into the dam. The search and scanning activities of the teams in the area are ongoing. It has been learned that if the piece that fell into the lake is large, it will not be retrieved.
