A citizen who came to the mosque in Erzurum for the evening prayer saw a person hanging inside and reported the situation to 112. Health teams arriving at the scene determined that the person had lost his life, and it was reported that the cause of death would be clarified with an autopsy.
A citizen who came to Selimiye Mosque in the Palandöken district of Erzurum to perform the evening prayer noticed a person hanging inside and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The health teams determined that the person had lost their life.
WHETHER IT WAS A SUICIDE WILL BE DETERMINED BY AUTOPSY
Police teams launched a comprehensive investigation in and around the mosque, and after the crime scene investigation, the body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Whether the incident occurred as a suicide or for a different reason will become clear after the autopsy and investigation. The police teams' investigation into the incident is ongoing.
