39-year-old Arif Erman, vacationing in the Alanya district of Antalya, ran and dove headfirst into water about 50 centimeters deep at the hotel pier, despite warning signs stating that jumping was dangerous and prohibited. Erman, a married father of three, was severely injured and died in the hospital where he was taken. The moment of the incident was captured on the hotel's security camera.
Ignoring the warnings, Arif Erman's dive became his end. Erman, 39, who dove headfirst into shallow water from the pier of the hotel where he was vacationing in Alanya, was seriously injured. The father of 3, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved.
HE DIVED RUNNING DESPITE THE PROHIBITION SIGN
The incident occurred around 15:00 yesterday at a hotel in Konaklı, a district of Alanya, Antalya. Arif Erman, who was in the region for his vacation, came to the area where the protective ropes surrounding the hotel pier were located and first looked at the sea. Despite the warning signs indicating that jumping from the pier was dangerous and prohibited, Erman stepped back for a while. Then, starting to run, Erman passed the protective section of the pier and dove headfirst into the sea. It was reported that the water depth at the point where Erman jumped was approximately 50 centimeters.
THE LIFEGUARD IMMEDIATELY DIVED INTO THE SEA
The lifeguard on the pier, who saw Erman jump into the shallow water, entered the sea without wasting time. First aid was administered to Erman, who was pulled from the water seriously injured, at the scene. After the medical team's intervention, Arif Erman, 39, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life despite all the doctors' efforts.

The hotel's security camera recorded the moments before Arif Erman jumped into the sea. In the images, Erman is seen first looking at the sea from the pier, then stepping back to gain distance to run. Erman then ran past the protective section on the pier and dove headfirst into the shallow water. The lifeguard is also seen entering the water for intervention immediately after the incident.
HE WAS MARRIED AND A FATHER OF 3 CHILDREN
It was reported that Arif Erman, who lost his life, lived in Akçay Neighborhood, Sapanca district of Sakarya, was married and a father of 3 children. Erman's body will be taken to his hometown Sapanca and buried there. The investigation launched into the incident continues.
