The DEM Party's Imrali Delegation stated that the texts circulated on social media under the names 'meeting notes' and 'minutes' referring to Abdullah Ocalan constitute a dangerous activity aimed at sabotaging the process, and requested that no documents not based on an official basis be given credence.
In the past few days, it was claimed that in the minutes kept during the meeting between the DEM Party Imrali Delegation and terrorist organization PKK leader Öcalan, Öcalan sent a 'special greeting' to Özgür Özel, and it was alleged that Öcalan (addressing Özel) said, 'The path of democracy passes through Imrali, not Silivri.' When Özel was asked about this statement, he replied, 'The path of democracy passes through Parliament, not prisons.' Özel also stated that no such statement had reached him from the DEM Party or the state side.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM DEM PARTY
Following the claims that the Imrali minutes were leaked and that a 'special greeting' was sent to Özel, an official statement came from the DEM Party. The party's statement referred to previous claims of minute leaks and noted that some texts had been put into circulation once again.
"ADDITIONS AND REMOVALS ARE BEING MADE IN THE TEXTS"
In the statement, it was expressed that these documents, presented under the name of 'meeting notes,' had deliberate additions and removals made to them, and that phrases targeting certain figures were intentionally inserted into the texts later. It was also pointed out that other documents circulated as 'minutes' contained fictional claims aimed at misleading the public and provoking the ongoing process.
"A DANGEROUS ACTIVITY AIMED AT SABOTAGING THE PROCESS"
The statement also harshly addressed the purpose of the circulated documents, noting that such attempts are extremely dangerous. The DEM Party Imrali Delegation described this information pollution as an activity directly aimed at sabotaging the process, which has reached a significant threshold, and Abdullah Öcalan, and declared to the public that this situation is unacceptable under any circumstances.
"ONLY TRUST OFFICIAL SOURCES"
In the final part of the statement, citizens were asked to be cautious against perception operations. The delegation reminded that no document should be believed unless it comes directly from the Imrali Delegation, family members who met with Öcalan, or his official lawyers. It was strongly emphasized that such provocative notes and information not based on an official ground should definitely not be trusted.
