The incident occurred on Thursday, August 13, around 21:30 on Altın Street in the Fatih neighborhood. According to allegations, a suspect on a motorcycle who came to a cafe opened fire with a gun he drew from his waist at customer Bayram Karaca (35), who was playing games on the upper floor of the building. While fleeing, the suspect also shot the business owner, Cumali Kan (34), whom he encountered on the stairs, and escaped from the scene. Upon the reports of those nearby, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. After the first intervention by health teams, the two severely injured individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
LOST HIS LIFE 10 DAYS LATER
Cumali Kan, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life approximately 1 hour after the incident despite all the doctors' interventions. Bayram Karaca, who fought for his life in the intensive care unit of the hospital for 10 days, also could not be saved and passed away.
THEY WERE LAID TO REST
The bodies, whose autopsies were completed, were received from the Forensic Medicine Institute by their relatives. Cumali Kan, whose funeral prayer was held in the Bagcilar Goztepe neighborhood, was laid to rest. Bayram Karaca was buried after the funeral prayer held at the Kucukcekmece Aksemsettin Mosque following the noon prayer. It was learned that the police teams' efforts to apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
