"WE THINK IT STEMMED FROM ANIMOSITY"After the program, Çayırova District Governor Ahmet Önal made statements to the journalists and said, "Mr. Mahir was killed in front of his house yesterday morning. Our late deputy director was a valuable educator who had been working in our district for 18 years and was loved by everyone. He was a good father and a good educator, but he was killed in a murder that had nothing to do with him, without any fault or sin. This murder has nothing to do with education, school, or students, and I want to emphasize this. This murder is completely external. We think it stemmed from animosity between families, but our teacher has no involvement. Our teacher is here to save his own life and have a good life. Therefore, he has no connection with current or former students. Contrary to what has been written in some press and media organizations, this is not a teacher-student murder. I want to emphasize this. The culprits have been apprehended," he said. After the program at the school, Mahir Çoğaç's body was taken to Osman Nuri Aksoy Mosque in Atatürk Neighborhood, where the prayer would be held. After the prayer, the funeral was buried in Çayırova Akse Cemetery.
