Italy's Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, stated that Baykar could collaborate with the Italian defense giant Leonardo following its acquisition of Piaggio Aerospace. This development is said to contribute to the technological cooperation between Turkey and Italy.

Italy's Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, stated, "Baykar may join forces with the Italian defense giant Leonardo after acquiring Piaggio Aerospace." Urso made this assessment regarding the acquisition of the Italian aerospace company Piaggio Aerospace by Baykar in response to a question posed to him in the Senate.

SUBMITTED AN OFFER FOR THE DEFENSE GIANT

Urso noted that the agreement with Baykar contributes to outlining the main lines of technological and industrial cooperation between Turkey and Italy, stating, "Baykar may join forces with the Italian defense giant Leonardo after acquiring Piaggio Aerospace." He added that strong companies like Leonardo need to form more alliances to strengthen the aerospace sector in Italy and their leadership in the European Union (EU).

Baykar announced last month that it had acquired the established aerospace firm Piaggio Aerospace, founded in Italy in 1884. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the Italian aerospace and defense giant Leonardo is the 13th largest defense company in the world and the 2nd largest in Europe.
