Having last worn the HJK Helsinki jersey in the 2011/12 season, Litmanen signed with the Estonian team Kalev Tallinn III, stepping back into professional football at the age of 55.

Litmanen, who won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995, stood out as one of the most important players of the team during that period. The successful midfielder also became the top scorer in the Champions League in the 1995/96 season.
