Jonathan Andic, the eldest son of Isak Andic Ermay, a Turkish and Spanish citizen and founder of Mango, one of Spain's major textile companies, who is accused of killing his father, was released conditionally from court on a 1 million euro bail.

Jonathan Andic, detained this morning by the Catalan regional police, testified before the judge of the 5th Investigative Court in the Martorell district of Barcelona as a suspect in the death of his father, who died on December 14, 2024, after falling from a cliff in the mountainous area of Montserrat, north of Barcelona.

"RELEASED ON 1 MILLION EURO BAIL"

It was reported that Jonathan Andic, who was released after paying the 1 million euro bail set by the judge, had his passport confiscated, was subject to a travel ban, and was required to sign in at the court once a week.

Meanwhile, according to news in the Spanish press, Jonathan, the eldest son of Mango's founder, gave a statement lasting more than an hour and only answered questions from his lawyer, Cristobal Martell.

STATEMENT FROM THE ANDIC FAMILY

Additionally, the Andic family, in a written statement on the matter, defended Jonathan Andic's innocence, stating that they are "convinced that there is absolutely no legitimate evidence against him and that there never will be."

DIED AFTER FALLING 100 METERS IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA

Isak Andic, born in Istanbul and from a Sephardic Jewish family, migrated to Spain at the age of 14 and lived in Barcelona for many years.

Isak Andic died at the age of 71 on the evening of December 14, 2024, after falling approximately 100 meters while hiking in the mountainous area of Montserrat, north of Barcelona.

An investigation had been ongoing for a long time into his son Jonathan, who was with Isak Andic at the time. During the judicial process, Jonathan Andic denied the allegations that he was responsible for his father's death.

Jonathan Andic, who was once in senior management at Mango but was later removed from his position by his father's decision, has been on the board of directors since 2012. In the 2024 list announced by Forbes magazine, Isak Andic was shown as Spain's 5th richest businessman with a fortune of approximately 4.5 billion euros.
