For the first time in its history, Jordan will participate in the FIFA World Cup. The government has delayed the start of working hours by 2 hours in official institutions on match days of the national team. Jordan will compete in Group J alongside defending champion Argentina, as well as Austria and Algeria.
Jordan, set to participate in the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history, has introduced a new arrangement for working hours during the tournament.
OFFICIAL OFFICES START WORK 2 HOURS LATE
In a statement from the Jordanian Prime Ministry, it was announced that, by the directive of Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, the start time for work at official offices on the days of the national team's matches has been set to 10:00 instead of 08:00.
Accordingly, due to the first-round group stage matches, working hours at official institutions in Jordan will begin at 10:00 on June 17, 23, and 28.
The statement noted that the decision was made to enable Jordanian citizens to watch the matches of their national team, which will appear in the FIFA World Cup for the first time.
THEIR GROUP IS QUITE CHALLENGING
Jordan will compete against Argentina, Algeria, and Austria in Group J of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The national team will complete its tournament preparations with a friendly match against Colombia on June 7 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California, USA. Following this match, the Jordanian delegation will move to the official World Cup camp center in Portland.
