Justice Minister Akın Gürlek met with the family of 15-year-old Emir Yuşa Atıcı, who lost his life on August 11, 2021, in Trabzon due to a stray bullet. Minister Gürlek, who ordered the formation of a special team to shed light on the incident, said, "As a state, we will do our part; we clearly want to solve this case."
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek received the family of 15-year-old Emir Yuşa Atıcı, who lost his life as a result of a stray bullet on August 11, 2021 in Trabzon, at the Trabzon Governorship.
“AFTER YOUR INSTRUCTION, THE FILE BEGAN TO BE EXAMINED IN DETAIL AGAIN”
During the meeting with the family, father Mustafa Atıcı stated that no results had been achieved in the case so far and said to Minister Gürlek, “You are definitely our only hope, Mr. Minister. May God be pleased with your closeness and approach to us. After your instruction to investigate unsolved cases, the file began to be examined in detail again.”
“WE CLEARLY WANT TO SOLVE THIS INCIDENT”
Minister Gürlek, who requested that the incident be re-investigated by establishing a special team, gave instructions for the Emir Yuşa Atıcı file. Minister Gürlek said, “As a state, we will do whatever falls on us. Our will is in this direction. We clearly want to solve this incident. Our colleagues are also working. Stay in constant consultation with them.”

On the other hand, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek also made a statement on his social media account regarding the issue. Gürlek said: “Five years ago, we came together with Asiye Atıcı, the mother of Emir Yuşa Atıcı, who lost his life at the age of just 15 as a result of a stray bullet, and his father Mustafa Atıcı, on the occasion of our Trabzon program. In the file re-examined by our Department for Investigation of Unsolved Crimes, all evidence is being meticulously re-examined to shed light on all aspects of the incident and to identify the person or persons responsible. We will closely follow the process to reveal the truth and ensure that those who caused this pain are held accountable before justice. I once again wish God's mercy upon our child Emir Yuşa, and patience and fortitude to his family and loved ones.”
