Former İYİ Party member and Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş has decided to continue his political career in the AK Party. Dursun Ataş was personally presented his badge by President Erdoğan at the AK Party Group Meeting. HE RESIGNED FROM HIS PARTY ON SEPTEMBER 6Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş announced his resignation from the İYİ Party on September 6, stating in a written statement, "This decision is not merely the result of a grievance, criticism, or negative thought, but rather a reflection of my desire to be more efficient and effective in serving the nation." WHO IS DURSUN ATAŞ?Dursun Ataş was the Mayor of Pınarbaşı and the Nationalist Movement Party's candidate for Mayor. He was born in Pınarbaşı in 1966. After completing his secondary education in Pınarbaşı, he graduated from Kayseri Sümer High School. He entered the Air Technical School in 1986 and began his service as an Air Non-Commissioned Officer in 1987. He served in various locations of the Air Force for 20 years and retired in 2007. He was elected as the İYİ Party's Kayseri Deputy in the 27th term. He served as a member of the TBMM Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Affairs Commission and the National Defense Commission. He was elected as the Kayseri Deputy for the 28th term from the İYİ Party in the elections held on May 14, 2023. On September 6, Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş, who resigned from the İYİ Party, joined the AK Party.
