The Mayor of Keçiören, Mesut Özarslan, who resigned from the CHP, filed a criminal complaint against Özgür Özel for threats and insults. It had been revealed that Özarslan received abusive messages from Özel, who was rumored to be switching to the AK Party.
Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan resigned from his party CHP yesterday. Özarslan cited the messages sent to him via WhatsApp by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel as the reason for his decision.
Screen captures allegedly belonging to the insulting messages sent by Özel to Özarslan were leaked. The messages shared by Turkey Press Federation President Sinan Burhan included the following statements:
- "Dog"
- "F..k off"
- "Lowly dog, f..k off"
- "You belong next to them"
- "Sycophant"
- "Characterless b..ch"
- "You are where you deserve to be, you are in a place that suits you"
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT ABOUT ÖZEL
After the messages were leaked, Mesut Özarslan took action and filed a criminal complaint against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel for 'threat' and 'insult' at the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
"I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL BE AK PARTY OR MHP"
On the other hand, Mesut Özarslan responded to the question "Will you switch to AK Party?" during a television program. In his response, Özarslan said, "We will see, it could be AK Party or MHP, I don't know. Maybe we can serve independently, I don't know."
