After the derby in which Fenerbahçe lost 2-1 to Beşiktaş at home, Kerem Aktürkoğlu reacted strongly to the refereeing decisions. Drawing attention to the position from which they expected a penalty, the national footballer said, 'I'm tired of some things, some things made me sick to my stomach. Enough is enough; someone needs to say stop to some things.'
In the 4th week of the Trendyol Super League, Fenerbahce suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Besiktas. Following the derby, the yellow-navy blue's national player Kerem Akturkoglu made statements.
"WE DID NOT PLAY WELL"
Stating that they were upset due to the defeat, Kerem Akturkoglu said they could not gift a victory to their fans:
"We suffered a sad defeat at home. We wanted to get a nice victory together with our fans. It was not pleasant, it's sad. We could not give our fans the victory they wanted. We did not play well."
"THE WHOLE OF TURKEY HAS SEEN MY PENALTY POSITION"
Reacting to the referee's decisions, Kerem criticized the position where he expected a penalty:
"It's been about four weeks, we've been talking about referees in the Super League for four weeks. The whole of Turkey has seen my penalty position, he said he didn't see it. The information from VAR was that the ball was out. I looked at the replay, it was inside."
"SOME THINGS MADE ME FEEL SICK"
Kerem Akturkoglu continued his words, increasing the intensity of his reaction, saying:
"Some things are interpreted differently against us. I'm tired. I promised myself I would stay on the field. I'm tired of some things, some things made me feel sick."
"MAYBE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 2-2, MAYBE 3-2"
The national player, who argued that the referee should have seen the position, stated that the penalty not given could have changed the course of the match:
"Okay, we can play badly. The referee's job is to give what he sees! He says 'I didn't see it, there was a man in front of me.' I don't understand how this is an excuse, how this is a justification. You will see. My team would have won a penalty, maybe it would have been 2-2, maybe 3-2 with enthusiasm."
"SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE SAID STOP NOW"
Kerem Akturkoglu, who argued that similar decisions occurred in the Genclerbirligi match, concluded his words as follows:
"The same thing in the Genclerbirligi match. Two penalties were not given. Here it was not given. I hope some things will change, but they aren't. We talk about referees every week, what a shame! Let's talk about victories, we also know how to congratulate. Our right was violated, we will defend it. Today I am full. However this will change, let it change. Let nobody's right be violated. Let there be fair football. Let decisions be made for everyone under equal conditions. After that, whatever happens. There is nothing fair in the middle. You can even win in a match where you play badly. Something needs to be said stop now!"
