In Kırıkkale, within the scope of a bribery investigation, Keskin Mayor Ekmel Cönger was sentenced to 5 years, 2 months, and 15 days in prison, while contractor M.Y. received a sentence of 6 years and 3 months. The court also ruled that the defendants be deprived of certain rights.

In Kirikkale, Keskin Mayor Ekmel Cönger was sentenced to 5 years, 2 months and 15 days, and contractor M.Y. to 6 years and 3 months in prison, within the scope of the "bribery" investigation.

At the hearing in the Kirikkale 1st Heavy Penal Court, defendant M.Y., who was tried without detention, and his lawyers were present. Cönger did not attend the hearing. Defendant M.Y. claimed in his defense that he had no involvement with bribery and requested acquittal. Cönger's lawyer argued that there were uncollected evidence and stated that his client's treatment at the hospital was ongoing.

"THERE IS NO ISSUE OF BRIBERY"

The lawyer, claiming that there was no issue of bribery, argued that his client did not commit such a crime. The court panel sentenced Cönger to 5 years, 2 months and 15 days and contractor M.Y. to 6 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of "bribery", and ruled that the defendants be deprived of certain rights specified in Article 53/5 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).

The indictment prepared by the Kirikkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Keskin Mayor Ekmel Cönger and contractor M.Y. on charges of "bribery" had been accepted by the 1st Heavy Penal Court.
