While backroom talks intensify in the CHP following the “absolute nullity” decision, journalist Fuat Uğur claimed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu could announce Mansur Yavaş as the presidential candidate. Uğur also alleged that a new party congress date could be postponed to 2027.
Following the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber regarding the "absolute nullity" of CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention in 2023, tense hours are being experienced in politics. Following the decision, the Özgür Özel administration gave a message of struggle, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu called for unity and calm. While there is curiosity about what path Kılıçdaroğlu will follow if he returns to the chairmanship, a striking claim that has stirred up CHP backstage has come to the agenda.
"HE MAY ANNOUNCE YAVAŞ AS THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE"
Journalist Fuat Uğur, speaking on the Taksim Meydanı program broadcast on TGRT News, made remarkable statements regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's roadmap. Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu would announce Mansur Yavaş as the presidential candidate, Uğur said, "I think Kılıçdaroğlu will announce Mansur Yavaş as the presidential candidate after he puts the party in order in the coming days. I even had reports about this."
"A CONVENTION DECISION WILL BE MADE BUT..."
Fuat Uğur also claimed that a new convention decision could be made in CHP, but it would not happen in the short term. Uğur said, "They will make the convention decision within 1-2 months, but they will set the date as November 2027."
CALL FOR "CALM" FROM MANSUR YAVAŞ
Meanwhile, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, in his statement following the "absolute nullity" decision, called for common sense and said, "What needs to be done is not to escalate tension, but to act with common sense, announce that the party will make a congress decision within 1-2 months on its own will, and run the process within democratic traditions."
Yavaş also emphasized unity and solidarity, saying, "Navigating this process with calmness is our responsibility towards millions who have placed their hopes in us."
