CHP Party Assembly convened under the shadow of resignations of 27 members and calls for a congress. Kılıçdaroğlu requested the preparation of a schedule for the ordinary congress while stating that an extraordinary congress could be held if the legal obstacle is removed. Kılıçdaroğlu said, "There is no such thing as me being the Chairman forever. Let us prepare a schedule for the ordinary congress; if the legal obstacle for an extraordinary congress is removed, we can also hold an extraordinary congress then."
The CHP Party Assembly met today under the chairmanship of its General Leader, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Speaking at the meeting, held under the shadow of the resignations of 27 PM members and calls for a congress, Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'There is no such thing as being General Leader forever. Let us prepare a schedule for the ordinary congress; if the legal obstacle for an extraordinary congress is removed, then we can also hold an extraordinary congress.'
The CHP Party Assembly (PM) met at 13:00 today under the chairmanship of General Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The meeting, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, was attended by 27 PM members including Kılıçdaroğlu, while before the meeting, 27 PM members submitted their resignations to the General Headquarters. It was also learned that PM member and Deputy General Leader Ahmet Hakan Uyanık is in military service, CHP Istanbul Deputy Erdoğan Toprak submitted an excuse, and Burhan Şenatalar did not receive the PM notification from the enforcement office.
CHP Istanbul Deputy Zeynel Emre, in a statement at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, announced the number of resigning PM members as 28. It was learned that Yaşar Seyman, who was claimed to be one of the 28 resignees, did not resign. Speaking at the meeting, Seyman reportedly said he was in favor of a solution within the party, using the words 'I am against expulsions. If the resigning friends had come, we would have signed together for an extraordinary congress.'

According to information obtained by ANKA News Agency regarding the meeting, Kılıçdaroğlu delivered an approximately one-hour speech at the opening of the meeting, sharing his assessments of developments in the country and the region. Touching on the latest developments in the CHP, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he is in favor of preparing a schedule for the ordinary congress. Stating that party organs and legal experts need to work on the congress schedule, Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'There is no such thing as being General Leader forever. My 'safe harbor' approach from the 38th Congress continues exactly as before. I am not a legal expert, but if there is a possibility for an extraordinary congress, let's not wait even a second. Let's prepare a schedule for the ordinary congress; if the legal obstacle for an extraordinary congress is removed, then we can also hold an extraordinary congress.'
5 PM MEMBERS CALLED FOR A CONGRESS
It was learned that all PM members except for MYK members took the floor during the meeting, and five of these PM members called for a congress. The names who called for a congress were identified as Kahramanmaraş Deputy Ali Öztunç, Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erol, Istanbul Deputy Oğuz Kaan Salıcı, and PM members Yaşar Seyman and Mehmet Tüm.
OBJECTION TO DISCIPLINARY DECISIONS
While it was learned that the main agenda of the meeting was internal party issues, and PM members made speeches regarding party unity, some PM members objected to the referral of 9 deputies to the disciplinary committee with a request for precautionary expulsion. While some PM members argued that there was a mistake in timing, others objected to the deputies being referred to discipline by the MYK.
MYK TO MEET AGAIN TOMORROW
Meanwhile, the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) will meet again at 14:00 tomorrow. It is claimed that the meeting may include new expulsion decisions regarding deputies and the dismissal of some provincial leaders. Whether Kılıçdaroğlu will speak at the CHP Group Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, will also be discussed at the meeting. CHP aides who say they are 'determined' on this issue state that the final decision will be made at the MYK.
KILIÇDAROĞLU MAY APPOINT DEPUTY GROUP CHAIRS
Among the 9 names referred to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) were CHP Deputy Group Chairs Ali Mahir Başarır and Gökhan Günaydın. The CHP wrote to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, stating that both individuals no longer hold any position in the party. Thus, stating that Murat Emir remains as the only CHP Deputy Group Chair and that two seats are vacant, aides said, 'We do not have to elect Deputy Group Chairs again. Kemal Bey can appoint new names to the vacant seats.'
