SHE STABBED TWO PEOPLE
The incident occurred on Monday around 4:30 PM near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue. According to reports, the woman attacked a man and a woman with a knife amidst the crowds of Times Square.
Police teams were dispatched to the area following the report. The officers found the attacker behind the NYPD precinct holding a knife.
SHE WALKED TOWARD THE POLICE WITH A KNIFE
According to law enforcement sources who spoke to the New York Post, the woman pointed the knife at the officers. The teams then opened fire, shooting and neutralizing the woman.
A large kitchen knife, believed to have been used in the attack, was also found at the scene. It was recovered near a souvenir shop in Times Square.
ALL THREE PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
Following the attack, both stabbing victims and the woman shot by police were taken to the hospital. Sources reported that the condition of all three individuals is critical.
After the incident, police increased security measures around Times Square, leading to disruptions in traffic and transportation in the area. The NYPD warned citizens to stay away from the vicinity of West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.
THE MOTIVE OF THE ATTACK IS BEING INVESTIGATED
