In Sultangazi, Istanbul, an argument that allegedly started over 'making comments' between 3 people who were said to be drinking alcohol on the roadside and 2 people who approached them in a car turned into a knife fight. Sinan Bıçakçı, 36, who was seriously injured, died in the hospital the next day. While one of the suspects identified as being involved in the incident turned himself in, efforts continue to capture Enes S., 19, who is alleged to have carried out the knife attack.
The argument in Sultangazi, allegedly started over 'catcalling,' ended in bloodshed. Sinan Bıçakçı (36), who was stabbed in the incident, lost his life, while Kadir B. and Yunus Emre B. were injured.
The incident occurred around 02:00 on Friday, August 21, in Uğur Mumcu Neighborhood. According to the claim, a car approached the spot where Sinan Bıçakçı, Kadir B., and Yunus Emre B., who were allegedly drinking alcohol by the roadside, were present.
"CATCALLING" ARGUMENT TURNED INTO A KNIFE FIGHT
According to the claim, an argument broke out over 'catcalling' between 2 people who got out of the car and the group. As the verbal argument quickly escalated, a fight began between the parties.
During the fight, it was alleged that Enes S. (19), one of the parties, attacked the group with a knife he took from the car. While Sinan Bıçakçı, Kadir B., and Yunus Emre B. were injured by the knife blows, the suspects fled the scene in the car they arrived in.
Upon reports from those around, police and medical teams were dispatched to the region. The 3 injured, who received first aid, were taken to the hospital by ambulances.
SİNAN BIÇAKÇI LOST HIS LIFE
Among the injured taken under treatment at the hospital, Sinan Bıçakçı could not be saved despite all medical interventions a day after the incident.
It was learned that Kadir B., injured in the fight, was discharged after his treatment, while Yunus Emre B.'s treatment at the hospital continues.
IDENTITIES OF THE SUSPECTS DETERMINED
Following the incident, teams from the Sultangazi District Police Department Public Order Bureau initiated efforts to capture the suspects.
Police teams determined that the people involved in the incident were Enes S. (19) and Sedat Ç. (26). It was stated that Enes S. had 4 records for 'intentional injury,' and Sedat Ç. had 7 records for the same crime.
ONE OF THE SUSPECTS SURRENDERED
One of the suspects, Sedat Ç., went to the police station around 14:30 on the day of the incident and surrendered. After his procedures and statement at the police station, the suspect was referred to the courthouse. It was learned that police teams continue their efforts to capture Enes S., who allegedly carried out the knife attack.
