Due to a landslide in the Turkish district of Türkeli in Sinop, 2 houses and 1 barn were destroyed; a couple trapped under the rubble was rescued after 3.5 hours of work.
In the Düz village of the Merkez neighborhood in the Türkeli district of Sinop, a landslide occurred at night, resulting in the collapse of 2 houses and 1 barn. A couple, Mesut and Fatma Kaya, who were trapped under the rubble, were rescued by the efforts of the teams.
Teams quickly reached the area upon receiving information that there were people inside the houses during the landslide that occurred at 23:41 in Sinop. Following a report from local residents, gendarmerie, AFAD, and medical teams were dispatched to the region. Additionally, a warning was issued that the risk of landslides in the area continues and that citizens should be cautious.
TWO PEOPLE RESCUED AFTER HOURS
Sinop Governor Mustafa Özarslan also visited the area to conduct inspections and made a statement regarding the incident. Özarslan stated that 2 houses and 1 barn were damaged in the landslide, that there were 4 people in the two houses, that 2 people managed to escape on their own, and that the remaining couple was rescued after 3.5 hours of work and taken to Ayancık State Hospital.
