The first hearing of the case regarding the armed attack at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş, in which 9 students and teacher Ayla Kara lost their lives and 15 students were injured, was held. While the attacker İsa A.M.'s detained father, Uğur Mersinli, stated that he filed a complaint against his son for taking his guns without permission, he was alleged to have laughed in the presence of the grieving families.
The first hearing was held in the case opened after the attack on Ayser Çalık Secondary School, where 10 people lost their lives. During the hearing, the attacker's father's defense and his demeanor toward the grieving families drew reactions.

In the armed attack organized on April 15 at Ayser Çalık Secondary School in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, 9 students and teacher Ayla Kara lost their lives, and 15 students were injured. At the first hearing of the case opened after the attack, the attacker İsa A.M.'s detained father, Uğur Mersinli, also made a defense.
FATHER BECAME A COMPLAINANT AGAINST HIS SON
Uğur Mersinli made a striking defense regarding the weapons used in the attack. Saying his son took the weapons without his permission, Mersinli stated, "I am filing a complaint against my son because he stole my weapons. My son took the weapons without my permission and against my will." One of the most striking claims about what happened in the hearing came from Mustafa Güngör, the father of Kerem Erdem Güngör, who lost his life in the attack.
"THE MAN LAUGHED OUT LOUD INSIDE"
Mustafa Güngör, reacting to Uğur Mersinli's behavior in the courtroom, said, "Ten pure Turkish children were murdered here. Ten pure Turkish children were murdered. The man laughed out loud inside, he laughed, he mocked us." The grieving father's words revealed the tension in the hearing.
"WHY ARE YOU SILENCING ME WHILE I SEEK JUSTICE FOR MY CHILD?"
Güngör also said that while describing the events during the hearing, the judge warned him when he reacted to the attacker. Mustafa Güngör said, "When I reacted to that man, the judge told me: 'You cannot shout.' How do you let that criminal laugh in court? Why are you trying to silence me while I seek justice for my child?"
