The General Chairman of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, stated, "For a long time, unfortunately, we have been witnessing horrendous and brutal murders and judicial incidents that cause outrage throughout our country." "MUST BE FOUGHT IN A FIRM AND DECISIVE MANNER"Speaking on social media regarding the events in Fatih, Istanbul, Destici said: "Lastly, today, I believe that the inhumane murders that occurred in Fatih, Istanbul, have highlighted the necessity for us to take new measures in our justice and security system regarding the serious increase in similar criminal incidents. Firstly, inspections regarding the use of unlicensed firearms, drug trafficking, and usage should be increased, and a firmer and more decisive fight should be waged against street gangs and mafia-type formations." PENAL AND EXECUTION SYSTEMDestici stated, "Our citizens who respect their state, laws, and the society they live in should not experience security concerns in traffic, on the streets, or in social areas; the state must ensure the safety of its citizens." He added, "Throughout the years, after numerous cases, we have repeatedly expressed the reality that we must make changes in our penal and execution system." PERPETUAL IMPRISONMENT WITHOUT PAROLE AND DEATH PENALTY"In many instances, we have seen that the perpetrators have committed dozens of crimes that require their isolation from society if they commit even one. I repeat: Penalties for crimes against women and children, as well as issues related to terrorism, drug trafficking, and unlicensed armament, should be increased. The legislation regarding our security forces' intervention in crime should be revised. The execution system, especially concerning areas referred to as catalog crimes, should be changed in our legal system, and the penal system must definitely include perpetual imprisonment without parole. For murders targeting women and children, brutal murders that cause outrage in society, and murders committed by terrorist organizations, the death penalty must definitely be reinstated." IT IS A DUTY TO THE NATION"The state cannot be helpless, nor should it be. Ensuring the safety of our nation is the primary, perhaps the first duty of the state. Based on this reality, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey should take this issue onto its agenda and resolve these problems. This is the duty of the representatives of the nation to our people." "GET WELL SOON BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"Lastly, the General Chairman of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, expressed, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of life caused by the heavy rains and subsequent landslides in the city of Jablanica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, our brother and friendly country. On behalf of myself and the Great Unity Community, I wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives, and I extend my condolences and patience to their families, the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and our Bosniak brothers."
