Theater artist and actor Levent Üzümcü announced on his social media account that he was detained by security forces. There is no official information yet regarding which investigation the procedure is part of.

In his post, the actor used the phrase "I am being detained."
While no official statement has yet been made regarding the scope of the investigation under which the detention was carried out, statements from the artist's lawyers or relevant authorities are awaited.
WHO IS LEVENT ÜZÜMCÜ?
Levent Üzümcü was born on July 6, 1972, in Izmir. After graduating from the Theater Department of the Anadolu University State Conservatory in Eskisehir, he began his artistic career at the Bursa State Theater and later served for many years at the Istanbul City Theaters. He is widely known by the general public for his portrayal of the character "Cem Onaran" in the TV series "Avrupa Yakası" (European Side), which aired between 2004 and 2009. In his television career, he has taken roles in productions such as Şen Yuva, Kavak Yelleri, and Harem; on the silver screen, he has appeared in films like Abimm, Beyza'nın Kadınları, and Merdiven Baba.
Also known for his stance on political and social issues, Üzümcü was dismissed from the Istanbul City Theaters in 2015, citing his support for the Gezi Park protests and a speech he gave at the Socialist International as justification. After winning a legal battle he initiated following this decision, the artist was reinstated to his position at the City Theaters by a court order in 2020. Levent Üzümcü, who has two published books titled "Boyun Eğme" (Do Not Bow) and "Aklımın Odaları" (Rooms of My Mind), has also been involved in politics alongside his artistic career; in the local elections of March 31, 2024, he was elected as a municipal council member for the Şişli Municipality from the CHP and was appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Şişli Municipality.
