The driver who wanted to show off in traffic by having the license plate of his vehicle in Gaziantep printed with 'Ülkü Ocakları Gaziantep Provincial Directorate' had his hopes dashed. After the images recorded by a nearby driver's mobile phone camera and shared on social media quickly caused a huge stir, the security forces stepped in.
While a driver was traveling in traffic in Gaziantep, they tried to show off by having the phrase "Ülkü Ocakları Gaziantep Provincial Presidency" printed on their license plate, which not only resulted in a heavy fine but also the loss of their vehicle. The footage, recorded by another driver and shared on social media, quickly sparked a huge reaction on digital platforms and ignited a broad debate.
TEAMS TOOK ACTION
Following the rapid spread of the footage, teams from the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Branch launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. After thoroughly scanning the camera records, the teams quickly identified the vehicle's original license plate and the identity of the driver behind the wheel as a result of the pursuit.
HE LOST BOTH HIS VEHICLE AND HIS MONEY
Heavy sanctions were imposed on the driver who clearly violated traffic regulations and endangered traffic safety by using a non-standard license plate.
The vehicle in question was impounded and towed to a parking lot for 30 days due to the use of a license plate contrary to regulations.
The driver was also issued an administrative fine totaling 140,000 Turkish lira for violating traffic rules and official license plate standards.
