In Berlin, the capital of Germany, 41-year-old doctor Johannes M, who ended the lives of 15 severely ill patients at their homes with "lethal drug mixtures" while working at a palliative care center, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Berlin State Court. Due to the severity of his crime, he was permanently banned from practicing medicine, and having confessed to 12 murders during the trial, new cases involving 76 suspected deaths are expected to be filed against the killer doctor.

A German court has delivered its verdict against Johannes M., a 41-year-old German doctor who was tried for killing 15 of his patients while working at a palliative care center in Berlin, the capital of Germany. The Berlin State Court sentenced the doctor, who has been in custody since August 2024, to life imprisonment. The court also ruled that the crime was "particularly severe in nature" and decided to permanently ban the defendant from practicing his profession.

HE ENDED THEIR LIVES WITH A DEADLY MIXTURE

According to information reported by the German News Agency (DPA), the court revealed how Doctor Johannes M. committed these horrific murders between 2021 and 2024. It was determined that the suspect targeted a total of 15 people—12 of whom were women—aged between 25 and 94, all suffering from serious illnesses, during home visits. The doctor was found to have ended their lives by "injecting a deadly mixture of various medications."

HE CONFESSED TO THE MURDERS DURING THE TRIAL

During the trial, Johannes M., sitting in the defendant's chair, admitted to the majority of the charges against him. The case file notes that the doctor confessed in the courtroom to killing 12 people and apologized to the families of the deceased patients. However, this confession and apology did not prevent the court from imposing the maximum sentence.

NEW INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOR 76 SUSPICIOUS DEATHS

Details of the report highlighted that the scale of the horrific acts committed by the murderous doctor may not be limited to 15 victims. It was announced that the prosecutor's office is conducting a more in-depth investigation into 76 different deaths related to the suspect. After the files on these mysterious deaths are completed, new cases are expected to be filed against Doctor Johannes M. within the year.
