After the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Ankara, US President Donald Trump, who met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara, a special guest of the summit, said at the joint press conference, "We are proud of the work al-Shara is doing in Syria." Trump also stated that he is considering removing Syria from the list of "state sponsors of terrorism."
