The most striking moment of the storm was when lightning struck the Mecca Royal Clock Tower, located right next to the Masjid al-Haram. Those fearful moments when the lightning, hitting the top point of the massive tower, illuminated the sky were captured on the mobile phone cameras of nearby citizens.
