A striking statement came from Justice Minister Akın Gürlek regarding the vehicles with flashing lights used in the abduction of Hilmi Tuna Kiriş during the operation against the Süleymancılar, which were found to be allocated to former Interior Minister İdris Naim Şahin. Gürlek said, 'Our minister İdris Naim Şahin should not have done this. He says he provided it through leasing. But this car has been in use for a long time. What they say with HTS doesn't match up. What they say doesn't align with what's in the file.'

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made statements regarding the investigation conducted over the vehicle with flashing lights, which was used in the abduction of Hilmi Tuna Kiriş, the brother of the community's leader Alihan Kuriş, during the operation against the Süleymancılar, and which was revealed to have been allocated to former Minister of Interior İdris Naim Şahin.

Stating that it is considered that the said vehicles were used for escape purposes, Gürlek said that in the relevant examinations, there is an inconsistency between Şahin's statements and the evidence in the file.

"WHAT HE SAYS DOES NOT MATCH THE EVIDENCE IN THE FILE"

Gürlek stated that İdris Naim Şahin claimed he provided the vehicle through rental, but the evidence in the investigation file does not overlap with this statement. Saying that there is a past acquaintance between Şahin and Mehmet Özmen, Gürlek reported that the HTS records regarding the vehicle were also examined. Gürlek stated that Şahin said he used the vehicle only when he came to Istanbul, but the HTS records show that the vehicle has been in use for a long time.

Gürlek used the expressions, "Our minister İdris Naim Şahin should not have done this. He says he provided it through rental. But this does not hold up with the evidence in the file. Şahin says, 'I use this vehicle only when I come to Istanbul.' But this car has been in use for a long time. What he says with HTS does not hold up. What he says does not match what is in the file."
