Apple's new phone, the iPhone 17, has officially gone on sale today in Turkey, as well as around the world. Despite the lowest model, the iPhone 17, being priced at 77,999 lira, long queues formed in front of stores, and citizens competed with each other to get their hands on the phone.
The iPhone 17 series was officially launched in Turkey today. Citizens who have been eagerly waiting for the phone to hit the stores, which was released simultaneously worldwide, flocked to shopping malls.

Despite the cheapest model, the iPhone 17, being offered for sale at 77,999 TL, long queues were observed in front of the stores.

Additionally, Apple’s new flagship, the iPhone 17 Pro (256 GB), highlighted the income disparities between countries. According to the "iPhone Affordability Index 2025" study, Turkey ranked fourth in the world in terms of the number of workdays required to purchase the device.
In the list of 33 countries, India ranked first with 160 days, the Philippines second with 101 days, while Turkey came in fourth with 89 days. Following them were Vietnam with 99 days, Brazil with 77 days, Thailand with 61 days, Malaysia with 45 days, Chile with 32 days, Hungary with 27 days, Portugal with 27 days, Poland with 24 days, and the Czech Republic with 17 days.
