In the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, E.K. lost her life after being stabbed by her husband, Erdal K., whom she had argued with on the street. Neighbors who attempted to lynch Erdal K. as he waited by his wife were dispersed by police firing warning shots into the air.
STABBED HIS WIFE MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE STREET
The incident occurred around 15:30 on 705th Street in Diliskelesi neighborhood. According to information obtained, an argument between Erdal K. and his wife Elif K. that began at home spilled onto the street. As the argument escalated, Erdal K. stabbed his wife Elif K. in various parts of her body in front of witnesses.
NEIGHBORS ATTEMPTED LYNCHING
Upon notification by nearby citizens, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. As Erdal K. surrendered to the police at the scene, neighborhood residents tried to lynch him. Police officers fired a single warning shot into the air to disperse the angry crowd.
UNFORTUNATE WOMAN LOST HER LIFE
After initial intervention at the scene, Elif K., a mother of five, was taken to the hospital but could not be saved despite all efforts by doctors and died. Preliminary examination revealed 8 stab wounds on Elif K.'s body. Erdal K. was taken into custody and brought to the police station. It was learned that Erdal K. had been unemployed for some time.
