French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the issue of a ceasefire in the context of the Russia-Ukraine War with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Rome. Macron stated that Zelensky is ready for an unconditional ceasefire.
French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the issue of a ceasefire in the context of the Russia-Ukraine War in Rome, the capital of Italy.
Macron stated in a post on his social media account that the meeting he had with Zelensky in Rome went very positively.
"UKRAINE IS READY FOR UNCONDITIONAL CEASEFIRE"
Macron conveyed that he and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed on the goal of ending the Russia-Ukraine War, saying, "Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. President Zelensky told me this again today."
"IT'S PUTIN'S TURN TO SHOW HE WANTS PEACE"
Macron noted that Zelensky wanted to work with Americans and Europeans for the implementation of the ceasefire, stating, "It is really President (of Russia) Putin's turn to show that he wants peace." Emmanuel Macron also mentioned that they would continue their efforts within the framework of the Coalition of Volunteers to achieve both a ceasefire in Ukraine and a comprehensive and lasting peace in the country.
