Our Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Germany 3-2 in the 2026 Women's VNL 2nd leg, despite falling behind 2-0.
The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Germany 3-2 in their third match of the second week of the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL).
HISTORIC COMEBACK FROM THE SULTANS OF THE NET
Germany started the match well, taking a 12-8 lead due to errors in serves by the star-and-crescent team. Germany won the set 25-18, taking a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, which began with back-and-forth points, the star-and-crescent team took a 6-3 lead with effective serves from Vargas, forcing their opponent to call a timeout. The national team extended the lead to 6 with block points and attacks in the middle: 14-8. Germany recovered with strong performances from Weske, Alsmeier, and Cekulaev, leveling the score at 19-19. Germany won the closely contested set 26-24, taking a 2-0 lead.
The first part of the third set also featured back-and-forth points, but in the final part, the star-and-crescent team pulled ahead with points from İlkin Aydın, winning the set 25-19 to bring the score to 2-1. In the fourth set, both teams traded points, with Germany taking a 15-14 lead thanks to Cekulaev. The star-and-crescent team then capitalized on their opponent's errors with strong performances from Vargas and İlkin Aydın, winning the set 25-22 to level the match at 2-2.
WE SECURED OUR 5TH VICTORY
The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team, displaying a better performance in the final set, won it 15-13 to take the match 3-2. With this result, Turkey achieved their 5th victory in the league. Germany suffered their 5th defeat.
